The cornerstone of good nutrition is a balanced diet that supplies all the essential nutrients that a horse needs every day, without net gain or loss. Ensuring an adequate supply of energy, protein, carbohydrates (including fiber) and lipids (oils and fats) is easier in horse diets than ensuring enough vitamins and minerals. Grass and preserved forages such as hay are always short of some essential vitamin and minerals. Because nutritional needs differ leisure horse, performance horse, and veteran horse, Well Horse has three variants for each.
Leisure horse - light exercise, low rations of grain
Performance horse - medium to hard work, with increased rations of grain
Veteran horse - 15 years old or older
